Narrated by Mia Farrow, AS WE FORGIVE is a feature-length documentary that tells the story of two Rwandan women journeying to reconcile with the neighbors who killed their families during the 1994 genocide. The film features in-depth interviews with both survivors and murderers, providing an intimate, first-hand view of the beautiful, painful reality of reconciliation after genocide.
Mpower Pictures and Executive Producer Stephen McEveety (Braveheart) released As We Forgive on October 6, 2009. The film has garnered critical acclaim, including the Gold Winner for Best Documentary at the 2008 Student Academy Awards and the Crystal Heart award at the Heartland Film Festival.
Rwandan President Paul Kagame says of the film, "As We Forgiveis a movie about hope arising from the ashes of genocide and should be shown to everyone. It is a powerful portrayal of forgiveness and will change the way people think about Rwanda and themselves."
