River India / SARSI School Expeditions
Location: Siang, Brahmaputra, And Subansiri Rivers Of Arunachal Pradesh, India
Purpose : Teach an annual guide school called SARSI at no cost for local youths.
NEEDS:    Skills in whitewater raft guiding, rowing, first aid, CPR, wilderness first response, swift water rescue, food handling, Hindi language, leave no trace ethics, back country camping.

River India is an award winning Himalayan travel company specializing in custom, small-group whitewater rafting, kayaking, and fishing expeditions on the Siang, Brahmaputra, and Subansiri rivers of Arunachal Pradesh, India

Dates: October through February
Price information / give back program: Our 11-day SARSI school expeditions are $2250. Small group Helicopter trip to our partner orphanage in Tawang is $4200- profits donated to orphanage.

Safety: Rafting involves inherent risk!
Level of activity / challenge: High but not extreme.
Accommodations / food / transportation: Hotel, food, and transportation included in trip cost from Delhi to Delhi. Hotels are comfortable with hot water and satellite TV; transportation is in private jeep vehicles. Multi-course meals are prepared by River India guides on a 6-day rafting trip. Camping and overnights are on beautiful white-sand beach camps.

Getting there: Flight to New Delhi, followed by a flight or train to Dibrugarh, Assam. From there, a ferry ride to Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh. Permits are required to enter the state and they require visitors to travel in groups of two. All trips are escorted by a RiverIndia trip leader.
